Community Choices
Soooo I've been thinking about what settings I would like to observe. And really the only things that I would enjoy doing would be at a daycare or a school or something. So I think that if I can, I am going to go to the day care on campus and observe. Sorry I don't have anymore ideas. If you can help me out with any ideas that would be great.

I think that's a good start! Check in with the daycare now to make sure you can do this without being expected to participate. Who would you observe? The children? Daycare providers? Why?
You mean let them know I want to watch not do anything? I would want to watch the kids to see how they react and if at a young age they alreayd only hang out with certain kids.
Cool--you're looking to see if "cliques" are already forming? That sounds really interesting!
As far as what you'll do when there, you'll have to take tons of notes. If you want to get more involved, you're certainly welcome to do that, but make sure you're getting in at least an hour of observations/note-taking every week. Getting too involved though might make things difficult if the kids want you to play when you're trying to write about them. Just a thought...
